Clintonville residents are being invited to participate in a downtown revitalization plan.

City Administrator Sharon Eveland said residents, business owners and property owners are invited to participate in an online survey available at http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3843956/Clintonville-Downtown-Plan.

The survey will gauge perceptions of the downtown’s existing strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

The survey is part of the city’s first downtown revitalization plan, which focuses on an area extending along South Main Street from the U.S. Highway 45 intersection north to 13th Street.

The results of the survey, in conjunction with the results of a market study and citizen priorities gathered through focus groups and other methods, will be used to develop strategies that prioritize real estate development, business improvement, business attraction, infrastructure investments, and civic and social programming.

Anyone who does not use a computer but is interested in participating in the survey can get a paper copy at City Hall, 50 10th St.

The survey will be completed by mid-October and the results will be made available to the public, Eveland said.

The downtown revitalization plan is being led by the consultant team of Short Elliott Henrickson Inc. and Placemaking Dynamics. The study is partially funded through a grant obtained by the city.
