A late winter storm is battering central Wisconsin.
Eight to 12 inches of snow have fallen across the region with another 1 to 4 inches expected across most of the state today.
A winter storm warning is in effect Thursday for most of central Wisconsin and a winter weather advisory is in effect for the southern portion of the state.
According to the National Weather Service, the brunt of the snow fell along a line stretching from Green Bay to La Crosse. Each of those cities has seen 7 to 8 inches.
Freezing rain fell on Madison and Milwaukee in the morning. Both cities could get 1 to 2 inches of snow in the afternoon.
