Two people, including a Shawano man, were injured Sunday morning when their small plane crashed into a farm field in the town of Waukechon off of Church Road.
The fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft was being piloted by a 66-year-old Shawano man, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department. The co-pilot/instructor was a 54-year-old man from North Baldwin, New York.
Authorities were notified of the crash just after 9 a.m.
Both men were taken to ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Responding on scene was Shawano Fire Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, Shawano Ambulance, Navarino EMS, and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
