Shawano police are still looking for a few more good citizens to take part in its Citizen Academy starting Monday.
The academy will run from 6-9 p.m. Mondays through Oct. 26 at City Hall, 127 S. Sawyer St. There is no fee.
Police Chief Mark Kohl said five had signed up as of Wednesday and the department is hoping for five more.
Participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Police Department and its operations.
Topics that will be covered include patrol, administration, crime prevention, neighborhood watch, water rescue, use of force, firearms, drug investigations, K-9s, crime scene investigation and traffic stops.

Meanwhile, an academy offered by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department starting Wednesday is full, according to Sheriff Adam Bieber.
Bieber said there were 20 applications, but the class was limited to 16.
