Two deaths on lakes in Shawano County this summer have been ruled accidental drownings.
The Shawano County coroner’s office has released findings in the deaths of both Norman Robertson on Shawano Lake and Maynard Sohr on Lily Lake.
Robertson, 45, a vacationer from Maryland, was found dead July 30 after he jumped into the lake to help his 10-year-old son and the two of them got separated from their boat. The boy survived, but Robertson’s body was recovered the next day.
Sohr, 79, was found dead Aug. 13 after witnesses reported seeing his unoccupied fishing boat adrift on the tiny lake near his home. The coroner determined that Sohr accidentally fell into the water, possibly after losing his balance because of medical issues.
No autopsy was conducted in either death.
