A Keshena man charged with a felony count of fleeing an officer after jumping into the Wolf River to escape police last month now faces a new charge of causing a child to view or listen to sexual activity.
Deion J. Boivin, 22, allegedly had sexual intercourse with his girlfriend while a 12-year-old child was in the same room in the town of Wescott on July 17, according to the criminal complaint.
He could face a maximum 12 1/2 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if found guilty. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of lewd and lascivious behavior.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
On July 18, the day after the alleged incident, Boivin fled from a traffic stop in Shawano and jumped into the Wolf River to elude police, according to a criminal complaint.
He was captured with the help of people on a pontoon boat who kept visual tabs on the suspect until he was picked up by the Shawano County Dive Team.
Boivin pleaded not guilty on Monday to felony counts of fleeing an officer and second-offense possession of marijuana, along with misdemeanor counts of second-offense operating while intoxicated and resisting an officer.
Boivin could face a maximum 3 1/2 years in prison and $10,000 fine on the felony count of fleeing if convicted.
Boivin is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in the fleeing case on Sept 11. He is being held on a $500 cash bond.
