There still has been no settlement reached in the complaint filed by Tricia Rose against Clintonville Mayor Judith Magee.

At a special meeting on July 27, following a closed session, attorney Jim Kalny said the council asked him to announce that there would be no further action on the closed session item in open session. Kalny, of Davis Kuelthau, was hired by the city to investigate the complaint.

He said he had been directed by the council to work with the parties in regard to the issue. He expected to report back to the council in August or September. No report was given at this week’s Common Council meeting.

Rose, the owner of a local newspaper in Clintonville, filed a Chapter 17 complaint last December against Magee citing misconduct in office, abuse of power, theft of property, willfully destroying public property, releasing confidential information, and concealing a crime.

Magee has not attended the July or August council meetings. City staff say they have not been able to reach her by phone or email.

Alderwoman Jeannie Schley expressed concern this week that the mayor’s mail is not being opened, as no one has the authority to open it. She said there may be important items not being attended to.
