Authorities have arrested a “person of interest” in connection with an armed robbery earlier this month in Mattoon.
No details have yet been released about the suspect, who was arrested after being pulled over Wednesday in Marathon County, according to Shawano County Sheriff Adam Bieber.
Donna’s Village Pump, 1203 Fourth St., in Mattoon, was struck by an armed robber shortly before 8:30 p.m. on March 6.
A white male, approximately 6 feet tall wearing camouflage and a ski mask, entered the store carrying a gun and demanded money, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount.
Bieber said the suspect’s vehicle matched the description of a vehicle seen in the area around the time of the robbery.
Items found inside the vehicle also matched what the suspect was described as wearing, and a cash box reported missing from the gas station was also found, Bieber said.
As of Thursday, there have been no charges yet filed in the case.
