The new 86-room hotel at Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenberg opened Feb. 12.
The five-floor hotel includes 77 standard rooms and nine executive-style bay suites. Each room features amenities such as a high-definition, flat-screen TV, coffee/tea maker, refrigerator, microwave, safe and free high-speed internet access.
Room rates range from $100 to $150 per night.
The hotel’s conference room is available for business meetings, luncheons and celebrations.
The hotel is part of a $33 million expansion that includes a 24,884-square-foot gaming floor, equipped with a wide variety of slot machines, electronic table games and video poker, restaurant and bars.
The Rivers Edge Restaurant is open from 5-10 p.m. daily. The Forest Edge Snack Bar is open from 9:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, and 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Cocktails and top-shelf beverages are available beginning at 11 a.m. daily at the new full-service Village Bar.
“The Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenberg Hotel is an admirable addition to our property, and it will certainly enhance our guests’ gaming experience,” said Fletcher Collins, executive manager. “Staying with us will allow you to stay and play at your leisure.”
Collins said the expansion provided more than 60 new employment opportunities and is expected to generate tourism within the Wittenberg community and Shawano County year-round.
A grand opening celebration is tentatively set for this spring.
Ho-Chunk Gaming in Wittenberg was one of three Ho-Chunk Nation casinos slated for major renovations and expansion as part of a $153 million project dubbed “Project Forward” launched in 2016. The other major projects were in Black River Falls and Wisconsin Dells.
Groundbreaking for the Wittenberg project was held in September 2016.
The new gaming floor opened in October.
