A New Year’s Day fire destroyed a residence in the town of Almon, displacing a family, but no injuries were reported.
Authorities responded to the blaze at N9140 Maple Road at about 5:15 p.m. Monday to find the structure fully engulfed. The fire was caused by heat tape used in the home, according to authorities.
The Red Cross responded to the scene to help the family.
The house was considered to be a total loss.
