The Clintonville School Board this week removed the “interim” from Superintendent David Dyb’s job title.
The board agreed to a two-year contract with Dyb on Monday. He will be paid $115,000 a year and receive a retirement annuity of $200 per pay period.
Board President Ben Huber said the district hired Dyb for “his work and his exceptional leadership qualities.”
Dyb was hired, from a pool of 15 applicants, as interim superintendent in August following the retirement of Tom O’Toole.
Dyb was district administrator of the Iola-Scandinavia School District for four years before resigning earlier this year.
According to media reports, Dyb was forced out of the Iola-Scandinavia job, which paid about $108,000 annually, when the school board decided it wanted a different leadership style.
Prior to the job with Iola-Scandinavia, Dyb served as middle school principal in Lodi for eight years, was middle/high school principal for two years in Markesan, and was an eighth-grade geography teacher for nine years with the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Middle School.
He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, is a graduate of the Licensure Program-Educational Leadership at Marian College in Fond du Lac, and earned his doctorate in education at Edgewood College in Madison.
