BILL MARKLEIN
Bill Marklein, an expert on emotional intelligence, will be the keynote speaker at the Shawano Country Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Business Luncheon on Nov. 2.
The title of Marklein’s presentation is “Emotional Intelligence: Awareness, Adaptability & Empathy for 21st Century Leadership.”
Emotional intelligence is the ability to effectively identify and manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of others. Many experts believe that a person’s emotional quotient (EQ) might be more important than IQ and is a better predictor of success, quality of relationships and overall happiness.
Participants will learn about emotional intelligence and how to use self- and social awareness, adaptability and empathy to reduce staff turnover and increase team performance and personal well-being.
Marklein has a master’s degree in corporate communication with his primary research on emotional intelligence and human connection.
Marklein has presented nationally coast-to-coast on emotional intelligence and has trained health care administrators at one of the largest independent health care facilities in Wisconsin.
He recently founded Employ Humanity LLC to inspire emotional intelligence in workplaces across the country. For information, visit www.employhumanity.com.
The fall luncheon will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Menominee Casino Resort Conference Center in Keshena.
The cost is $20 per person for chamber members and $30 for others. Corporate tables of eight are available for $160.
The deadline for reservations is Oct. 23. To RSVP call 715-524-2139 or email chamber@shawano.com.
