Gresham conducting school facilities survey

Board trying to prioritize district needs

The Gresham School Board is reaching out to all district residents in the next few weeks with a communitywide survey about educational facilities needs.

The board developed the survey to gather input from April’s unsuccessful referendum as well as to determine what a future referendum should include.

“Our schools are a critical part of our community,” said Newell Haffner, district administrator. “As we work to improve our schools we want to ensure that they will meet the needs of our students and community both now and in the future. Therefore, the voice of every resident is critical to this process.”

To assist with gathering the data, the school board is working with School Perceptions LLC, an independent Wisconsin firm with expertise in conducting school district surveys. All survey data is returned to School Perceptions and all information will remain anonymous.

Every district household will receive a paper survey in the mail in the coming days. Residents can either complete the paper survey and mail it back to School Perceptions in the envelope provided, or log on to the website listed on the survey and take the survey online.

Survey results will be presented to the school board on Oct. 23 and will be available online at www.gresham.k12.wi.us.

Recognizing that a revised facility plan must reflect the priorities of taxpayers, the school board is urging all residents to participate in the districtwide effort as it prepares to make important decisions about potential projects.
