Laurie Vollrath, of Clintonville, has been selected to fill a vacancy on the Clintonville School Board.
Vollrath will fill the vacancy created when Clyde Tellock resigned after being re-elected to the board in April. She will fill out the remainder of Tellock’s two-year term.
The board selected Vollrath on Monday after hearing statements from four candidates: Vollrath, Pat Schoonover, Larry Czarnecki and Mary Beth Kuester.
Vollrath said she became interested in school matters when she learned the district was considering closing the Dellwood Early Learning Center. She has a child who would attend the school.
She said she appeared before the board at that time and found her voice did matter.
