State and local authorities are investigating the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed a house in the town of Wescott on Thursday.
The home in the 6800 block of Curt Black Road was vacant at the time and no injuries were reported. It was fully engulfed when firefighters were called out shortly before 1 a.m.
The Shawano Area Fire Department was able to knock the blaze down in about 40 minutes.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department and state fire marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
