The Clintonville Common Council is expected to decide at its Sept. 12 meeting whether to approve the sanitary sewer lateral assessments for the Main Street reconstruction project.
Eight property owners attended a public hearing Aug. 24 regarding the assessments from 13th Street to state Highway 156. Following the hearing, the utility board voted to recommend approval of the assessments to the council.
Assessments are expected to be $1,631.45 for the 6-inch sanitary sewer lateral replacement and $65.15 for the cost of the temporary pedestrian surface. Sixty-six property owners are affected.
Property owners will have three options for paying the assessment. The bill can be paid in full upon receipt, put on the tax roll or paid in a five-year installment plan with interest.
If property owners fail to select a payment option, the assessment will go on the tax bill.
The street reconstruction project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Landscaping, tree planting and finishing work will be completed in October, weather permitting.
