The Little Rapids Corporation-Egan Family Foundation has awarded Charles N. Egan Scholarships to two students in the Shawano area, Olivia Schultz and Eric Schmidt.

Schultz, a graduate of Shawano Community High School, plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she will major in business. She is the daughter of Tim and Cherie Schulz.

Schmidt, a graduate of Gresham Community High School, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where he will major in human biology. He is the son of Andy and Lori Schmidt.

Little Rapids Corporation established the Little Rapids Corporation - Egan Family Foundation in 1986 in memory of Charles N. Egan, founder of Little Rapids Corporation, with the mission to fund charities in communities where Little Rapids Corporation has facilities.

The Charles N. Egan Scholarship was established for children of associates of Little Rapids Corporation who enroll in a full-time course of study leading to an associate degree or bachelor’s degree at an accredited vocational-technical school, two-year college or four-year college or university.

Little Rapids Corporation was founded by Charles Egan in 1947 and remains a family-owned business. The company’s core product lines serve the medical and beauty market segments, flexographic printing for a variety of packaging markets, and tissue, MG paper, and wet crepe paper for the specialty paper market. With headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Green Bay, the company also has a paper manufacturing facility in Shawano.
