A Bonduel man is facing multiple counts of child sexual assault and 41 counts of child porn possession after authorities in July investigated a complaint that he had been “playing inappropriately” with a 3-year-old boy.
Cody A. Doyen, 22, could face up to 60 years in prison on each of 12 counts of first-degree child sexual assault with a person under the age of 12 if convicted, and 25 years and a $100,000 fine on each count of possessing child pornography.
According to the criminal complaint, Doyen contacted authorities to complain about a neighbor who was spreading information that he had been having inappropriate contact with children.
However, during the interview, according to the complaint, Doyen admitted to having sexual contact with three boys within the past year, and found boys “between the ages of 1 and 10 to be sexually exciting.”
Shawano County sheriff’s detectives subsequently analyzed a cellphone surrendered by Doyen, according to the complaint, and also obtained a search warrant for his apartment, where a smartphone was seized.
The phones contained numerous images of child pornography, according to the complaint, some involving children as young as 3 years old.
Doyen is also facing charges of child enticement and exposing genitals to a child for the incidents that allegedly occurred between December 2016 and July of this year in Bonduel.
He was ordered held on a $100,000 cash bond Tuesday. His next court date was not yet set.
