Bonduel School District officials have found a familiar face to take over as high school principal.

Mark Margelofsky, who had been the district’s middle school principal, has been named to move into the high school position this fall.

He will succeed Jane Wonderling, who resigned after three years at Bonduel High School to take a school district superintendent’s job elsewhere.

District officials have approved a restructuring under which the middle school principal’s job was being eliminated in the fall. As a streamlining measure, sixth-grade students are being consolidated within the elementary school, while seventh- and eighth-grade students are shifted into the high school.

The restructuring was decided in the aftermath of both Wonderling’s resignation and the retirement of Bonduel Elementary School Principal Peggy Jones.

Officials discussed eliminating the elementary school principal position, but they decided instead to eliminate the middle school principal job. Brad Grayvold, a school administrator from Norway, Michigan, has been named the new elementary school principal.

The school board voted June 26 to offer the high school principal’s post to Margelofsky, who has been with Bonduel schools for many years.

Details of Margelofsky’s new contract have not been disclosed.

Wonderling was paid $84,160 a year as high school principal.

The Bonduel School District serves about 800 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
