The Tigerton School District recently received a $24,000 grant from the Wisconsin Technology Initiative to help integrate technology into the elementary school classrooms.

District Administrator Ben Rayome said the grant will be applied toward the purchase of 90 Chromebooks and three charging carts.

The district purchased devices for middle and high school students last year. The recent grant will complete the district’s efforts to provide a computer for district students at all levels.

Students will no longer need to wait for lab time to utilize technology.

“I am extremely proud of our staff for writing this grant and securing the technology for our students,” Rayome said. “The ability to access technology will give our students more educational advantages, which will result in increased learning. Technology makes learning more fun and engaging for our students.”

“We knew Tigerton School District would understand the importance and would put the technology to good use,” said Mike Kerr, executive director of Wisconsin Technology Initiative. “We are excited to see the positive results that will come from this project.”

The Wisconsin Technology Initiative was established in 2010 by John and Tashia Morgridge to improve academic achievement by providing funding for the advancement of instructional technology in K-12 learning environments throughout the state.
