KerberRose SC was recently presented the 2017 Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants Company Public Service Award.
The award is given to an organization/firm that demonstrates outstanding efforts to promote public service involvement at local, regional and state levels. It was one of eight WICPA Excellence Awards presented this year.
KerberRose and this year’s other Excellence Award recipients were recognized at the firm’s annual business meeting and banquet May 4 at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.
KerberRose was founded in 1979. With nine offices serving northeast and central Wisconsin, the firm prides itself on serving its clients with a hometown touch.
“We try to modify our engagement approach to meet the specific needs of the client,” said Michael Ruby, a shareholder at the firm. “Our culture and firm structure allows shareholders and managers to be heavily involved with our clients and easily accessible to them. We really feel it is important for our clients to get advice from the people they chose to work with. At the end of the day, clients want to be taken care of and treated fairly.”
Ruby said much of the firm’s culture also reflects its belief in community service. Employee volunteer efforts include Rotary, United Way, chambers of commerce, economic development boards, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Lions, high school career fairs, CASA, workforce development initiatives and Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts.
KerberRose offers paid community service time to its team members and encourages their involvement and participation within their respective communities.
KerberRose partners and team members participate actively within the accounting associations at both a state and national level.
The WICPA is the premier professional organization for Wisconsin CPAs, with nearly 7,700 members working in public accounting, industry, government and education.
