Speakers lined up for ag peer group meetings

The spring Marinette, Oconto and Shawano County Producer and Agribusiness Professionals Peer Group meetings, organized by the counties’ University of Wisconsin-Extension agriculture agents, will feature local experts on farm financial planning and private and government farm loan acquisition.

On Feb. 15, Brian Rieth, assistant vice president and agriculture loan specialist with Peshtigo National Bank, will provide an overview of farm financial business planning – the components, the importance and how to get started on your farm’s business plan. The meeting will be held at the Oconto Falls Community Library, 251 N. Main St., Oconto Falls.

On March 9, Dan Kaufman, financial services officer with Greenstone Farm Credit Service, will discuss the loan application process and dos and don’ts when seeking a farm loan. The meeting will be held at the Gillett Community Center, 200 E. Main St., Gillett.

On April 6, the Shawano-Menominee Farm Service Agency will discuss the various farm loan opportunities available from FSA and the requirements for application. The meeting will be held at the Green Valley Community Center , W1734 County Road E, Cecil.

All meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with a light meal, sponsored by Greenstone Farm Credit Services and Peshtigo National Bank. Presentations and discussions will begin at 7:15 p.m.
