Voters in the Shawano School District will have one contested school board race to decide in April.
Former board member Bruce Milavitz is seeking election to a newly created at-large board seat in a contest with retired high school social studies teacher Mart Grams.
The winner will serve a one-year term in a seat created last year as part of a reapportionment to improve representation on the nine-member board.
Three other board seats will be filled for traditional three-year terms without contested races.
Incumbent board member Michael Sleeper is unopposed for re-election in Area II, representing Belle Plaine, Navarino and Waukechon, while incumbent Beth McFarlane and newcomer Alysia
Pillsbury are unopposed for two seats in Area III, representing Wescott and Washington.
