Seventeen people have applied for the city administrator job in the city of Clintonville.

The deadline for applications was Dec. 9.

Chuck Kell was hired as interim city administrator in 2014 following the resignation of Lisa (Kuss) Kotter. After the city’s first attempt to recruit a full-time administrator failed to draw much interest, Kell’s agreement was extended until the end of June.

The city’s qualifications for the job include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, community and economic development or a related field, and five years of municipal administration experience. Candidates are to have a strong general management and administrative leadership background, including a proven history in personnel and human resource management, along with financial management ability and a proven record in effective service delivery and creative problem solving.

The salary range is $75,000 to $85,000.

A personnel committee will review the applications and decide whom to interview.

Mayor Lois Bressette has said she would like to have a new administrator work with Kell before he leaves.

City projects the new administrator will face are expected to include creating a redevelopment plan for the downtown area, improving housing opportunities in the city, updating the city’s comprehensive plan, conpleting several infrastructure projects, and creating and developing tax incremental financing districts.
