Annie’s Campground in Gresham will be featured on an upcoming episode of Discover Wisconsin.
The nation’s longest-running tourism TV show is showcasing six camping destinations and the little things that make them stand out from your average campground. The episode, called “Destination Camp-cation,” premieres Nov. 19-20 and was produced in partnership with Camping for the Fun of It and Discover Wisconsin.
The program airs statewide on Fox Sports Wisconsin at 10 a.m. Nov. 19. Visit discoverwisconsin.com/broadcast-guide for local air times.
Hosted by Mariah Haberman, Marie Justice and Eric Paulsen, the crew makes its way across the state, visiting some of the best, most kid-friendly campgrounds.
The show kicks off in Lodi at Smokey Hollow, a campsite featuring a huge swimming pond with a slide, a lemonade and slushy bar, mini-golf, an outdoor movie theater and a craft area.
Next up is a visit to River Bend RV Resort just outside of Watertown, which includes not only a campsite and park, but also a waterpark, a pool and a pond.
Marie Justice and her daughter, Hallie, visit Rivers Edge Campground in Stevens Point along the Wisconsin River. On-site, they find a boat landing, a brand new water park, a heated pool and events such as beanbag toss, an ice cream social hour, crafts, games and movie night.
Annie’s Campground in Gresham is next on the list for the Justices. The campground includes a petting zoo full of billy goats, rabbits and chickens, as well as huge inflatable animals and slides.
Viewers tag along with Paulsen to Rustic Timbers campground near Egg Harbor in Door County. Its fun activities include a dog show, bouncy houses and a bounce pad, a pool, and a shop full of candy and ice cream.
The last stop on the tour is to O’Neil Creek campground in Chippewa Falls. Haberman visits there on Halloween and gets chosen to judge a costume contest. The kids proceed to trick or treat around the campground all day, while Haberman checks out the campground haunted house.
“This is camping like you’ve never seen it before,” said Mariah Haberman, co-host of Discover Wisconsin. “From water wars to inflatable jumping pillows, there are so many reasons to love Camping for the Fun of It campgrounds!”
The episode was written and produced by Olivia Gilbert.
