A three-way race for one seat on the Bonduel School Board is down to two.

Incumbent Judy Rank and challenger Kara Skarlupka are moving on to the April 5 general election following Tuesday’s primary, with Nathan Burton finishing in third place.

Unofficial results show Rank got 293 votes, followed by Skarlupka with 98 votes and Burton with 90 votes.

Rank has served on the School Board since September 2015. She is the human resources director for Shawano County.

She said she plans to work hard and campaign for the April 5 election.

“I am pleased with the results and optimistic,” she said.

Skarlupka also serves on the School Board, but ran for both Rank’s seat and an at-large seat on the board. She can accept only one seat if elected.

Skarlupka declined to comment on Tuesday’s primary results.

Burton is employed as a technical and safety services manager with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

Reacting to the primary results, Burton noted Skarlupka’s dual candidacy, adding: “It was just a little unusual, but it is what it is.”
