All five of Clintonville’s incumbent alderpersons will seek re-election in April, and, as of Wednesday, only one of the five council seats will be uncontested.
In District 1, incumbent Jim Krause will face opposition from newcomer Lance Bagstad.
In District 2, incumbent Gloria Dunlavy will face opposition from newcomer Chuck Manske.
In District 3, incumbent Amy Steenbock will try to retain her seat and so far has no opposition.
In District 4, incumbent Mary Beth Kuester and newcomer Tim Zilch have both turned in their papers. Former Alderman Mike Hankins is also circulating papers.
In District 5, incumbent Jeannie Schley will face opposition from former Alderman Mark Doornink.
If there are more than two candidates for any of the races, there will be a primary on Feb. 16. The general election is April 5.
District 4 Alderperson Lois Bressette is running for mayor. Newcomer Jonathan Bayless also has taken out nomination papers. Mayor Judith Magee is resigning, effective Jan. 1, and the Common Council voted to leave the position vacant until the election.
Papers are due to the Clintonville City Hall no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday. Bagstad, Kuester, Zilch and Bressette have filed their papers.
