Dona Maynard has settled into her job as the new postmaster in Bonduel in time for the holiday rush.
“It’s a nice office with great employees,” said Maynard, who has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years.
Prior to accepting the position in Bonduel, she worked part-time for 17 years in Oconto Falls, served as postmaster in Nichols for five years and then worked as officer in charge in several post offices.
“I’ve been all over,” Maynard said.
She got the job in Bonduel after Rhonda Marsh retired. The staff includes three rural route carriers, two substitutes and two part-time clerks.
The regular hours are from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. The lobby is open 24 hours for access to the post office boxes.
This is every post office’s busy time of year, and Bonduel is no different.
“It’s picked up,” Maynard said.
Maynard, who also oversees the Cecil office, grew up in Lena and lives in Oconto Falls. She is enjoying her role in Bonduel.
“It’s a nice place to work,” Maynard said.
