A 21-year-old man who escaped from the Winnebago Correctional Center last month was arrested Monday night near the city of Shawano, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
Leland C. Larock escaped from the minimum-security facility in Winnebago on Oct. 9, along with Austin W. Reynolds, 21.
Authorities captured Reynolds Oct. 14 on Green Bay’s west side after getting a tip from the public.
Sheriff Adam Bieber said Larock was arrested shortly after 8 p.m. at a residence near the city by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Special Response Team.
“The Sheriff’s Office received reliable information about the whereabouts of Larock, and a search warrant was obtained by a Shawano County judge,” Bieber said.
Larock was found inside the residence and was turned over to Oshkosh police.
Bieber said Larock grew up in the Shawano area and has a lot of family and ties to this area.
Larock was serving a three-year prison sentence for violating his probation in connection to felony burglary and theft convictions in Shawano County.
