An armed and intoxicated man was taken into custody by Clintonville police who responded to a disturbance Saturday night.
Police responded at 9:42 p.m. to a complaint of an intoxicated man disturbing his neighbor and reportedly threatening that he had a gun on East 14th Street.
Officers responded and while questioning the intoxicated suspect, Sgt. Chris Wendorf noticed a handgun in a holster on the man’s waist under his jacket.
Wendorf instructed the man to place his hands in the air, but he instead reached down and placed his hand on his weapon, according to a report from the Clintonville Police Department.
Wendorf drew his weapon and the suspect removed his hand from his weapon.
Police seized a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol from the suspect.
The 62-year-old Clintonville man was taken into custody on charges of being armed while intoxicated, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
