The Shawano School Board approved the agenda the school district’s annual meeting for the public to provide input on a proposed $26.7 million budget for the 2015-16 school year.
The district’s annual meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 21 at Shawano Community Middle School, 1050 S. Union St., Shawano.
All residents aged 18 or older can vote on whether the board should approve the tax levy, which will help fund a $26.7 million budget next year that includes a 2 percent pay raise for employees and $500,000 for capital improvements to the middle school.
The levy is estimated at $13.1 million, an increase of about $140,000 from last year.
The board is scheduled to take final action on the budget in mid-October after enrollment and state equalized valuations are available.
The budget is unrelated to a Nov. 3 districtwide referendum authorizing officials to spend another $9.25 million on renovations and upgrades to the middle school.
