According to court records, Kane has previous OWI convictions in Marquette and Shawano counties, as well as two in Illinois, one in Indiana and one in Michigan.

Manufacturing meth

An Aniwa man entered a plea of not guilty Monday to manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place and other felony charges.

Theodore E. Rustick, 42, is accused of using a room he was renting at a residence in Aniwa to manufacture meth.

Langlade County authorities had been tipped off to the alleged operation and conducted a search of the premises with Shawano County sheriff’s detectives on Aug. 6. According to the criminal complaint, authorities found drug paraphernalia in Rustick’s room and the makings of a meth operation in the garage.

Rustick could face a maximum 12 1/2 years in prison and $25,000 fine for manufacturing methamphetamine if convicted; six years and a $10,000 fine for possession of waste from methamphetamine manufacturing; and 3 1/2 years and a $10,000 fine for maintaining a drug trafficking place.

Rustick was being held on a $10,000 cash bond and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on Oct. 7.

Burglary

A mental competency hearing was ordered Monday for a Keshena man accused of breaking into a home in the town of Wescott earlier this month.

Alvin J. Sanapaw, 29, was allegedly found inside the residence by the homeowners on Aug. 8, according to the criminal complaint, which states Sanapaw initially claimed it was his home.

Sanapaw could face a maximum 12 1/2 years in prison and $25,000 fine if found guilty. He was being held on a $3,500 cash bond.

A status conference in the case is scheduled for Sept. 17.
