Emergency crews were searching a small Shawano County lake Wednesday for an elderly boater whose boat was found adrift.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department said the 79-year-old Shawano man is known to use the boat often on Lily Lake, located north of Shawano in the town of Washington.
The fishing boat was found floating unattended on the lake shortly after 11 a.m., the department said in a news release.
The Shawano County Dive Team was conducting a search of the area with assistance from the sheriff’s department and local fire and emergency medical personnel.
The search was suspended later Wednesday and was scheduled to resume Thursday morning.
