A Shawano woman is facing nine felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place for allegedly allowing her home to be used for drug activity, according to a criminal complaint.
Shandell E. Guzman, 24, could face a maximum 3½ years in prison and $10,000 fine on each count if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, authorities learned of the alleged drug activity after the arrest last month of Austin J. Lundell, 18, of Shawano, on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
Lundell was pulled over for speeding in the town of Washington on June 5.
Authorities were able to smell the odor of marijuana in the vehicle, according to that criminal complaint.
A K-9 sniff of the vehicle indicated the presence of marijuana, and a search of the vehicle subsequently located multiple plastic bags of marijuana, according to the criminal complaint, which states a baggie allegedly thrown from the vehicle was also found in a ditch near the passenger side.
According to the complaint against Guzman, she became a suspect after a forensic analysis of Lundell’s cellphone.
The complaint alleges that authorities extracted multiple photos and videos of drug activity taking place at Guzman’s residence.
According to the complaint, the photos and videos include juveniles — ranging in age from 16 to 19 — engaged in drug activity, including a male identified as a high school junior bagging marijuana and other teenagers using marijuana bongs and smoking marijuana cigarettes.
Several adults, including Guzman, are also seen in the photos and videos, according to the complaint.
Shawano County sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Guzman’s residence on Friday.
Multiple marijuana pipes and paraphernalia were located, along with a small amount of marijuana, according to the complaint.
Guzman told authorities she was not present when many of the photos and videos were taken, and said Lundell had broken into her apartment and held parties without her knowledge.
Guzman also identified Lundell as her dealer, according to the complaint, and said she had purchased marijuana from him at least 50 times over the past 32 months.
Lundell, who is free on a $2,500 signature bond, is due back in court for arraignment Aug. 3 on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Guzman was released on a $5,000 signature bond and is scheduled for an adjourned initial court appearance on Aug. 24.
