Candidates for offices in the spring election will be able to start gathering signatures Sunday.
A wide range of offices are on the April 1 ballot, including all 27 seats on the Shawano County Board of Supervisors.
Those hoping to get on the ballot for the County Board will need to gather 20 signatures by Jan. 7, when their papers have to be turned in to the County Clerk’s office.
Also on the ballot will be the judicial seat, currently held by James Habeck, in Branch 1 of Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court.
Terms are also expiring in April for a number of municipal officials.
In the city of Shawano, the mayor’s office, held by Lorna Marquardt, is on the ballot, as are seats on the Common Council held by Rhonda Strebel, Fred Ponschok and John Hoeffs. City Attorney Tim Schmid is also up for re-election.
Other terms expiring include three trustee seats in the village of Bonduel held by Troy Wescott, Sharon Wussow and Dick Sibert; trustee seats in the village of Cecil held by James Slatky, Dave Bahr and Dean Moesch; and supervisor seats in the town of Wescott held by Brian Moesch and Bruce “Duffy” Schultz.
Several area school districts have terms expiring on their boards of education.
On the Shawano School Board, Julie Van Dyck and Marcia Yeager are up for re-election. Also, newly appointed board member Michael Sleeper will have to run in April if he plans to stay on the board.
Two seats on the Bonduel School Board are up for re-election. They are held by Jay Krull and Greg Borowski.
Jane Schultz, Anne Smith and Joe Miller are up for re-election on the Bowler School Board, and seats held by David Jonesy Miller and Elaine Peters will be on the ballot for the Menominee Indian School District board.
If a primary is necessary in any of the races, it will be held on Feb. 18.
